Here's my English homework:P In this time and age, the friends in our lives are getting more and more important to us. Generally, friends are people we come across in our lives and got the chance to know us better. If you are wondering where we can find new friends, the answer is simple; Everywhere! Anyone at any place can be our friends. In our modern world, we make friends regardless of race or religion. The reason all of us need friends is so that we can share our problems with them. Due to that, friends become a place where we can put our trust and that makes life more interesting than keeping everything to ourselves. Besides sharing our problems, we can also share work with our friends so that the work can be finished more easily and sooner. For a true friend, he or she will never complain if we keep asking them to help us, but we must always remember to give a helping hand if they ever ask for our help later. Without a doubt, friends indeed are special people who can help us in many ways. However, being around friends can also cause peer pressure. Because of peer pressure, we often force ourselves to do what our friends do, even though we know it is bad. As a result, we will get influenced to do harmful things such as smoking and abusing drugs if we mix with the wrong crowd. Besides that, there are also some friends who befriend us just to take advantage of us. When given the chance, these type of friends will betray us just to achieve their own goals. One disadvantage of having too many friends is that we would not have enough time or chance to treat all our friends equally and as a result, some may feel left out and will be offended. Throughout the course of our lives, we will come across many types of friends. Some of them may be good, loyal and trustworthy, while others may be ill-purposed and desire to hurt you. Also, some of our friends might also be materialistic, greedy, or self-centered. These types of friends usually do not value friendship and do not care about other people. So, as an advice, all of us should choose our friends wisely because they can influence us to do things which can either be good or bad. To conclude, I would like to use the saying that ‘No Man is an Island’ to show that we cannot live alone and that we need friends in our lives. Tay, 4e1
